Ainārs Rudzītis

Highly qualified cardiologist with excellent training and international experience.

He holds a PhD degree in Internal Medicine from the University of Latvia. He has completed fellowships at several prestigious clinics in Germany, Switzerland and France, including Herzzentrum Leipzig (Leipzig, Germany), Deutsches Herzzentrum Berlin (Berlin, Germany), University Hospital Basel (Basel, Switzerland) and University Clinic Rouen (Rouen, France).

A doctor with more than 25 years of experience, specialising in echocardiography — ultrasound diagnosis of heart diseases for more than 20 years. The cardiologist specialises in the diagnosis and invasive (transcatheter) treatment of congenital and structural heart diseases, including transcatheter heart valve implantation/correction and PFO closure procedures in the secondary prevention of stroke. Expert in the diagnosis and treatment of coronary artery disease, heart failure, valvular heart disease, cardiomyopathies, pulmonary hypertension and rare cardiological diseases (including amyloidosis, Fabry disease).

Rudzītis, MD, PhD, is a member of the Board of the Latvian Society of Cardiology, a member of the Board of the Latvian Association of Rare Disease Specialists, a member of the Pulmonary Hypertension Working Group, an Honorary Member of the Pulmonary Hypertension Society and the Chairman of the Board of the Rare Diseases Research Foundation. He is also a Fellow of the European Society of Cardiology (FESC) and a Fellow of the American Society of Echocardiography.

With several scientific publications and participation in international conferences (Riga, Paris, London, Frankfurt, Madrid, Lund, Tel Aviv, Vienna, Prague, Zagreb), he is a recognised expert in his field.
