Graduated from the Faculty of Medicine of Riga Stradins University and the Thoracic Surgery Program of the University of Latvia. Interned at the Royal Brompton Hospital in London. Chief physician-thoracic surgeon, bronchologist at Pauls Stradins Clinical University Hospital. Since 2020, assistant professor at the Department of Surgery of Riga Stradins University.
Specializes in oncology of the lungs and other thoracic organs, pathology, research into biomarkers of lung cancer and their early diagnosis, VATS (video-assisted thoracoscopy) and minimally invasive surgery, endoscopic surgeries (using one small incision), chest wall surgeries (rib surgeries, soft tissue plastic, chest wall reconstruction), as well as invasive bronchology (endobronchial diagnostic and therapeutic manipulations, tracheal and bronchial stent insertion).
Member of the Latvian Society of Thoracic Surgeons, European Society of Thoracic Surgeons, European Respiratory Society and European Society of Medical Oncology.
