A pediatric nephrologist provides consultations for children with congenital and acquired kidney and urinary tract disorders.
A consultation with a pediatric nephrologist is recommended if:
- there are urinary symptoms, such as frequent or painful urination;
- abnormalities have been detected in urine test results or a kidney ultrasound examination;
- blood tests show abnormal kidney function indicators (such as urea, creatinine, etc.);
- the child has been diagnosed with glomerulonephritis, pyelonephritis, kidney failure, edema, or high blood pressure.
