I began my medical career after graduating from the Faculty of Medicine at the Riga Medical Institute in 1985, specialising in internal medicine. I worked in inpatient therapeutic wards, outpatient clinics, and emergency departments, and went on to specialise in endocrinology. After growing my family, I continued my studies at RSU in psychotherapy and psychiatry. I have now been practising in these specialities for over 15 years, accumulating considerable experience. I work in a psychiatric inpatient setting as part of a Day Hospital rehabilitation team, as well as in private practice. I also spent 2 years at the RSU Clinic of Psychosomatic Medicine and Psychotherapy.
I am fascinated and captivated by the interplay between body, mind, and psyche, as well as the possibilities for addressing disruptions to this interplay in today's world — naturally, in collaboration with colleagues from other specialities.
I am a member of the Latvian Medical Association, the Latvian Association of Medical Psychotherapists, and the Latvian Psychiatric Association, as well as the international Neuropsychoanalysis Association. I regularly keep up with the latest developments both in Latvia and internationally, and I participate in the training of music therapists.
I work with adults.
