As a rheumatologist and also a pediatric rheumatologist, I consult patients with autoinflammatory and autoimmune diseases that may present with painful and/or swollen joints, chronic back pain, inflammation in the muscles, tendons, and ligaments, which do not have a clearly traumatic origin.
Before the consultation, in order for it to be as effective as possible, it would be very good to carry out the minimally necessary investigations through your family doctor – a complete blood count with ESR, CRP, RF and, if possible, X‑ray and ultrasound examination of the painful joints.
About myself: I have been working as a pediatric rheumatologist since 1990 and as a rheumatologist since 1998; I am a member of the Latvian Society of Rheumatology and the Latvian Society of Pediatric Rheumatology. I regularly update my knowledge at national and international conferences and congresses, and I give lectures to doctors of other specialties on rheumatology‑related topics.
