The most important thing in my work is the person – their experience, feelings, and inner process. I believe that psychotherapy is a safe, professional, and science‑based treatment method and a space where it is possible to pause, understand yourself better, and find a clearer direction even when life is dominated by confusion or emotional heaviness.
In therapy, empathic presence, respect, and the relationship with the patient are essential to me. I believe that change happens when a person feels truly heard and accepted. In my practice, the therapeutic process serves as support and guidance – not giving ready‑made answers, but helping the patient to come into contact with their own feelings, to become aware of their wishes and needs, and to develop a deeper understanding of themselves and their relationships.
As a certified physician‑psychotherapist with medical training, I work with adults who are dealing with:
In my therapeutic work I use evidence‑based methods, adapting the approach to each patient’s individual needs, pace, and situation:
I believe that psychotherapy is valuable for everyone – not only in acute crises, but also when there is a wish to better understand oneself, one’s relationships, and one’s inner processes. It is a professional, structured collaboration based on science and clinical experience.
In addition to clinical work, I am actively involved in academia – I give lectures and lead classes for students, supervise scientific research projects, and also give public lectures to the wider community, promoting understanding of mental health and the importance of psychotherapy. Ongoing professional development is important to me, so I regularly update my knowledge and keep up with the latest research in psychotherapy and psychiatry.
I am a member of the Latvian Association of Physician‑Psychotherapists and the Latvian Psychiatric Association.
