Since 2011, I started working at the National Mental Health Centre (NPVC) as a resident physician in psychiatry. After becoming certified as a psychiatrist, I began working in my profession and additionally trained in the subspecialty of forensic psychiatry expert.
In addition to my medical work, I teach psychiatry and forensic psychiatry at the University of Latvia and the State Police College. I conduct various educational seminars on current issues in dementia and other relevant topics in psychiatry.
As a psychiatrist, I work with various patient groups, offering diagnosis of mental disorders, appropriate treatment, education of patients and their relatives, and preparation of referrals to the State Medical Commission for Health and Work Capacity Assessment. I perform dementia assessment testing and provide practical recommendations for training and maintaining cognitive (mental) functions in dementia patients.
